Elmridge Primary School had their Daily Mile Track installed in the Summer of 2018 although didn’t get the full benefit from it until they started using the track in conjunction with the YourTrak app. We got in touch with Mark Edmundson, headteacher at Elmridge Primary School in 2019 and shortly after Elmridge began using the YourTrak app on a trial basis.

Using the App brought a new dimension to pupils fitness and encouraged them in getting involved with the Daily Mile Challenge. Not only was it easier to track each students progress but it helped support the pupils taking part.

Elmridge began used their ‘Good News Assembly’ on a Friday to give out the YourTrak certificates to pupils that had reached a new milestone and Mark, believes it was really rewarding for pupils to be able to come to the front of the assembly and get a big round of applause in front of the whole school.

The school introduced a gentle incentive and competition for everyone through wall charts and leader boards where all students can compete on a class, year and individual level and the results are shared at the end of every half term.

Through the App Mark is able to track and give stats for his school and will be using this at the Ofsted inspection to show them how much healthier and active the pupils have become. Teachers are also finding it really easy to track and monitor their own pupils.

Elmridge have started their 3rd marathon (Berlin) after already completing both their 1st (London) and 2nd (New York) marathons. Well done Elmridge and good luck!
